Shadow Puppets Museum, situated in the Jakarta region of Java Island is one of the Indonesia Java International Destination. Shadow Puppets Museum was constructed in the year of 1912 and is situated in West of Jakarta in the street of Pintu Besar Utara. Shadow Puppets Museum, an Indonesia Java International Destination, was formerly used as a land of a Church that was built in the year of 1640 in the name of De Oude Hollandsche Kerk (the Old Dutch Church). In the year of 1732, the building was under renovation and after it was completely renovated, it was renamed as De Nieuwe Holllandsche Kerk (The New Dutch Church). An earthquake once upon a time destroyed the whole building of the church. The building was later bought by an institution named Bataviasche Genootschap van Kunsten en Wetenschappen (Batavia Society of Arts and Science) which deals with the science of the culture of Indoensia. After getting transferred to many organizations in the subsequent years, this building was finally declared as the Shadow Puppets Museum in the year of 1975 on the 13th of August. The museum consists of a collection of wide variety of wayang and dolls from countries like Cambodia, Vietnam, China, India, Thailand, France, Malaysia and Suriname.
